Details

Craig is a very versatile attacking player. He has been utilized at both the striker and outside midfield positions. He displays good communication, pace and movements off the ball. His vision and awareness are well developed and he makes good decisions when attacking the goal in terms of both shooting and distribution.

Strengths

Craig has many years of experience playing in a good youth development system. He communicates constantly with his team mates and is a good physical presence in the attacking third.

Weakness

As a lone striker he would need additional upper body strength training, however in supporting roles or even in a 2 front formation he could prove to be an asset.

Observations

Ball Control: Craig demonstrates good control and does not hold on to the ball long, which is essential for strikers.

Dribbling: Craig can create space when needed and also has the ability to transition the ball effectively in order to release a shot.

Attacking Ability:  Craig has a good sense of the game in a supporting role during an attack, but he also has the experience to help create chances. He is an effective attacker and benefits his team in a more offensive role.

Defending: Craig seems to press the opposing team well in order create possession change. He is aggressive and is not afraid to slow the rhythm of the game as needed.

Heading: Craig has a good vertical leap and the ability to head the ball with proper technique.

Summary Assessment

Craig is a good offensive player with all the necessary foundations to be able to compete at the college level. He is a smart attacker who can read the defense and position himself to break free and create chances on goal. As with most high school players, Craig will develop quickly under college level strength training and conditioning programs. I feel at his current level of ability he could compete at the D2 level. He has put in extra work and training and it is showing during his senior year. He has a strong right foot and I feel will be an asset to any team looking for the services of a versatile attacker that can both serve as a striker or midfielder.

Dear Coach,

My name is Craig Graff.  I am a 17 year old senior who is currently playing on the Keystone Heights High School Varsity soccer team.  I am 5 ft 8 inches and I weigh 155 pounds.  The positions that I play on this team are striker, left wing, and right wing.  I have been playing on this varsity team for 3 years.  During my first season (sophomore year) I scored 10 goals in 25 games, as a sub coming off the bench in almost every game, while earning Newcomer of the year in the process.  My Junior year was hampered by a knee injury that sidelined me for the majority of the season, but I still managed to score two goals at the very beginning of the season right before I was injured, including a late equalizer vs. a school from a larger classification. I have fully recovered from the injury, and am playing very well in my offseason matches. I am looking forward to my senior year as I feel I am in the best form I have ever been in. I am a very quick and prolific striker, and my mile time is 5:58. Academically, I have a core GPA of 3.2, and a weighted GPA of 3.45 at the end of the eleventh- grade school year. I am dual enrolled at Santa Fe Community College in my junior year, and took English, Psychology, and Biology.

I would be honored to play for your institution and look forward to hearing from you soon! Thank you for taking the time to look at my profile.

Sincerely,

Craig Graff
