Details

Tyler is a very talented player with an extensive and impressive soccer background. He plays at some of the highest youth levels in California and is a committed year round athlete.

Strengths

Tyler is very confident with the ball, his foot skills are excellent and he is predominately right footed. He has great vision and good movement during an attacking play and his physical size enable him to both attack and defend effectively. His distribution skills for both the short and long pass are very good. His ability to out leap opponents for the header is an asset to his game and he executes this aspect of the game very well. He has a very impressive strike from distance and plays both sides of the ball effectively.

Weakness

His mile pace is very good at 5:33 however if he were to be utilized into a striker role he may benefit from explosive speed training. This however can only be fully determined with further evaluation of his 40 yd sprint time.

Observations

Ball Control (Technical):  Excellent ball control in both passing and receiving.

Passing:   He is very confident with the ball and distributes it with accuracy and with good pace.

Vision(Tactical):  Tyler understands the rhythm of the game and makes very effective runs off the ball.  He has a fantastic strike and knows how to play the supportive role of a central midfielder.

Defending:  Tyler has good physical presence and is not afraid to do what is necessary to win the ball. His size and athletic ability make him an asset when defending.

Mental & Endurance: This aspect of his game has not been observed by me personally, however he comes with high remarks from his coaches. His mile time is 5:33 which is an indicator for a player of very good pace.

Summary Assessment

Tyler would make a great addition to any college level program seeking the services of a midfielder. His ability to strike the ball and his size could make him a focal point as a striker also. Tyler has great vision and understands the game both offensively and defensively. His technically ability is very good, and he moves the ball with purpose and vision. His defending is aggressive and his ability to head the ball effectively is impressive. I feel Tyler could play at the D1 level and would easily flourish at any other college level.
