Thank you for taking the time to read my letter and review my film. My name is Morgan (MoMo) Harris; I am a senior varsity football player at San Pasqual High School (SPHS), in Escondido, California. I have had varsity football experience since my freshman year, working my way up to 2nd string on the depth chart my sophomore year beating out many upperclassman, at Mission Hills High School, San Marcos, California.
I am a 5’8”, 240 pounds athlete that has participated in many sports. My passion is football. I have played both offense and defense throughout my four years in high school. I enjoy playing both sides of the ball, but I consider myself an offensive player that also plays defense. My true positions are Fullback and Linebacker, however, I had to play defensive line for my high school team as it was best for our team. I am a leader on and off the field and take pride in my work ethic. This behavior has helped me to become a team captain and inspire my teammates to pursue a championship.
The weight training coach challenged me to be the strongest player in the county. My maximum lifts were; 500lb squat, 350lb bench press, 245lb military press, and 255lb power clean. I am the strongest player in SPHS history. Currently, my defensive stats in last 4 games have been, 27 solo tackles, 8 tackles for loss, and 2 sacks.
School has been priority. Right now I have an overall GPA of 3.0. I am not satisfied. In order to improve, I am taking AP Economics. Last year, I took AP United States history, and instead of opting not to take a math class I wanted to keep improving my math skills and decided to take Pre-Calculus.
I enjoy mentoring and coaching. I have coached younger players after my regular workouts this past summer. During the offseason I facilitate and teach a class to teens and men ranging in age from 15 to 30, about Authentic Manhood. In this course of study, men come together, and pursue what it is to be a noble man. This instruction changed my life and impacted other men. Men learn that Authentic Manhood is a process not a birthright. Successful men embrace a noble life giving definition of manhood and pursue it for a lifetime.
