Nathan Ledford is a 6'1 left handed pitcher/ 1st base/ OF out of San Diego California.
POS: LHP, 1B, OF
DOB: 06/22/97 (17)
Height/Weight: 6 1”, 165 lbs expecting Nathan to grow 6'3+ and will fill out to a solid lean frame.
School: West Hills High School (Calif.) HS
Excellent athlete with highly projectable frame at 6’3”, 205 pounds; plenty of room to develop and add strength; clean delivery requires minimal effort; consistently repeats mechanics; good use of lower half with strong trunk rotation; quick, effortless arm action.
Fastball velocity has steadily improved over last year as he’s developed and gained strength; sits comfortably at 85-86 mph and should bump 88+ by his senior season; shows good feel for a cutter, pronates off the 2 seam for an outside cut on right handed hitters., though it’s his least-developed offering; knows how to attack hitters with pitch thanks to plus command; age and size suggests he’ll sit high 80's to low-90s at maturity.
Present plus offering at 76-78 mph with potential to improve a full grade; has improved arm speed on pitch to create tighter rotation and more bite; good depth; feel for throwing it for a strike and taking it out of the zone to generate whiffs.
Solid-average offering that flashes plus; good speed differential at roughly 10 mph off his fastball; decent fading and drop action caused by good pronation.; sells it with good arm speed; keeps hitters off balance, preventing them from keying on his fastball and breaking ball.
Still learning how to pitch due to him being one of the top 10 hitters " BA" in the county has not left much room for pitching in the last 2 years. Is polishing up and has a real mind for the game.
Projection: as a pitcher D1-D2 College depending on velocity and command this year.

Nathan Ledford: Hitting
Is a great athlete with a lot of strength. Has great balance in his stance and swing
which enables him to adjust to the chance of speed and location consistently.
Continues to get stronger as he matures as an athlete. Nathan is learning to use his legs
and core muscles in his swing which is increasing the power in his swing dramatically to
all parts of the field.
Developing consistent swing plane making it tough for the pitcher to get Nathan out
with not only fastballs, but off speed. With a solid swing plane, Nathan has the ability
to hit for a high average due to his ability to hit the ball the other way to the left side.
Nathan is a very hard working and focused young man with a great attitude.
With his makeup, work ethic and ability, I see him as a D-1 or D-2 athlete.
