 Dear Coaches,

My name is Donovan Burrell Griffin #3 on the Tulare Western high school varsity basketball team. I have been playing high school basketball since my 2013 freshman season. I stand 6 feet tall 155LBs. My overall contributions to my squad has been hard work and dedication. Hard work and dedication is consistent on the court and in the classroom for me. I am developing in both and on a quest to become a true student athlete.

As a freshman and sophomore I learned a great deal about playing in a system. Now I'm a junior point guard my cerebral knowledge and physical ability has merged. My stat line is very consistent: 12pt, 3RB, 3 steals, 12 assist, 63% FG, 81%FT and 1turnover per game.

After the season I remained focused in the classroom my final semester climaxed with a 3.6 GPA in college prep classes. The "student" in student athlete is very important to me. I am preparing myself to graduate college and be a great collegiate athlete.

The summer of 2015 has been paramount. I am visiting my father Otis Griffin, former NFL football player and 3x world champion boxer. My in law former NBA player and current sideline media reporter, Henry Turner has open up the Sacramento kings facilities to me. I have been involved in: camps,NBA fundamental training, and exposed to major basketball IQ. My physical frame is putting on muscle and I am getting taller. My dedication and hard work will be on display in my senior season. I have also taken time to give back. During this summer I have volunteered time at the rec league to referee and coach games. My full intention is to do more for my community. Given the opportunity to be a student athlete at your university would be a privilege and childhood dream. I want to take this opportunity to thank you for your thoughtful consideration and for selecting me.
