I. Overview:

Tobias is a good looking prospect.  Although only 5’6” he does carry his 220lb frame well.  He has the ability to run inside and outside of the tackles and shows a burst to hit the hole quickly.  Tobias carried the ball 52 times for 238 yards which is 4.6 yard average.  He had games where he had carries of 11 and 18 and produced over 70 yards.  A 3.4 GPA in honors classes shows Tobias is a very serious student.  He has yet to take the ACT/SAT.  He hasn’t been the main focus of the offense but he can be a difference maker in other ways.  Special teams can be an important part of Tobias’s game along with being a RB.   I project him to be a RB/FB at the next level.

Dear Coaches,

My name is Tobias Floyd; I am a 5’6 225 pound fullback / running back for Northeast Guilford High School in McLeansiville, North Carolina. My two main focuses in life are excelling in school and playing the game I love which is football. I can add a certain aspect to any collegiate football team with my passion for the game, knowledge of the game, character, integrity, and my willingness to achieve. Many of my coaches have used me all over the field for my natural ability and stature. I am a great team player and will put everything on the line for my teammates. I was born with a natural winning mindset, and having a winning attitude.

I plan to attend a four year college and major in Business Management. During my high school career so far I have enjoyed taking 8 honors and 3 Advanced Placement classes, participated in extracurricular activities and being a multi-sport athlete have been an extra bonus. I have leadership roles in two community organizations, Jack & Jill of America and my church. As of freshman year I was selected as the 2013 JV Offensive Player of the Year. I also played on the varsity team during the second half of the season. As a Sophomore I had the pleasure of starting in every game my first season of Varsity football my sophomore year and plan to continue that tradition my final two years of high school.

In my high school football career I have learned to weather the storm and not let outside distractions affect your play on the field. I consider my offseason to be a month and half to two months to let my body rest from intense play and recuperate from any injuries. February begins my new season. I do various footwork and agility drills throughout the offseason as well as perfecting my craft and working on my running back skills. I also workout in the weight room everyday increasing my strength and working on drills such as; 40 yard dash, shuttle, vertical, and 225 rep test.

In addition to playing college football I want to further my education and obtain at least a four year degree in business management with a concentration in sports management. Getting a college education assures me that I will have a life after football. This game has been a part of my life sense I was in third grade, I give a lot of my success outside of the sport to football, this game has done tremendous things for my life and I hope to give it back.  I don’t have a dream school to play for or a certain school I wish to play for in college. I am honestly looking for a program that will give an undersized running back a chance to play college football.

Sincerely,

Tobias Floyd
