Dear Coach,

My name is Aquana McCalop. I wear number 9 for the Terry Parker Braves in Jacksonville, Florida. I have been playing High school football since 2012, and I have been on the Varsity team since 2013 as a Sophomore. I am 5’7 185 pounds. My best contribution to the team is my versatility on the field and my ability to lead. My sophomore season I started inside Linebacker, I finished top 5 in tackles. I also started a couple games at quarterback, I threw 1 touchdown but mostly ran the ball. I earned the Most Improved Player award that season.

My junior season I started inside Linebacker and I finished top 3 in tackles. Also started at Quarterback a few games and Running back as well, but my biggest contribution to my team, is that I was willing to play anywhere I was needed. I consistently made plays at whatever position I was playing on the field. I earned the Most Valuable Player award for that season. With one more season ahead I plan to only get better and achieve a lot more this season. I currently max 270 on bench, 225 power clean, and 405 squats. My hard work and dedication has brought me very far.

My senior season I was Co-captain. I started outside linebacker, I was number two on the depth chart as a running back. As starting linebacker accumulated 112 tackles with 21 of those tackles were for losses, along with 2 interceptions, with one of them resulting in a 72-yard touchdown. As a running back, I had 43 touches for a total of 387 yards and 4 rushing touchdowns.  I was rank number 1 in tackles this season. I was also nominated for all district for Duval County. I was also selected and participated in the NFFCA All-Star Football game. An I was selected and will participate in the Florida vs Georgia 2016 war of the border high school all-star football game in Folkston Georgia February 13th.

I plan on graduating with an higher GPA. I figured out very quickly that performance in the classroom is just as important as performance on the field. Currently I have a 3.16 GPA.  as I am in the International Baccalaureate program. I have volunteered for more than 150 hours. One thing I love to do is compete. If I am blessed with the opportunity to be a student-athlete for your program. I will compete and stand out and try be the best with everything I do. I am thinking of majoring in Sports Medicine.
