SANTA FE CHRISTIAN
My name is Avery Edwards. I am enrolled at Santa Fe Christian School in Solana Beach, CA, and graduate in the class of 2017. I am currently 5-foot-10, 140 pounds.
I have played on the girl’s lacrosse team at my school as a freshman and sophomore. Although I missed a portion of my freshman year due to an injury, I received the Coaches Award, an award given to the player who combines the best of athletic, academic and personal leadership and excellence, in both my freshman and sophomore seasons. My positions at SFC are midfielder and defense, and I average approximately three goals per game.
I have also been playing on the Pacific Falcons, one of the most competitive club lacrosse teams on the West Coast, since 8th grade. I play almost exclusively defense for the Falcons ---- and I love it! I see myself as mainly a defensive player in college.

My interest in your school is certainly not limited to athletics. SFC is a college preparatory school with 100 percent college attendance this year after graduation. I have a 4.3 GPA currently and am interested in pursuing a career in some aspect of health care.
Other than lacrosse, my passions are strength and conditioning training and international mission work. I have participated in mission work in Costa Rica, Russia, Mexico and I also spent six weeks in 2010 working with the kids at a children’s home in Kenya. My family helped start a non-profit corporation (www.Walindwa.org) to support the home (www.Elmabarnettchildrenscentre.org), and we visit approximately every two years. Someday, I would love to help lacrosse grow in Kenya!
Thank you for your time, I hope to hear from you soon.
