In 2007 A.J. accepted a full scholarship to the Univeristy of Kentucky...As a freshman Stewart averaged nine (9) minutes a game in 22 contests...Earned his first career start against San Diego...Scored four points and grabbed three boards in 11 minutes against Florida ... Had a key block late in the game at Tennessee ... Played nine first-half minutes at LSU ... Had three points and a team-high six rebounds in 21 minutes at Vanderbilt ... Scored nine points to go along with five rebounds in win over Tennessee Tech ... Scored six points and grabbed four boards in 18 minutes against North Carolina...Played 29 minutes against LIberty, scoring 10 points to go along with four rebounds and three blocks ... Also had an assist and two steals against the Flame

After college, A.J. continued his basketball career in Slovakia (Europe) with BK Iskra Svit. There Stewart averaged 13 points and eight rebounds per game and was the second leading shot blocker in the league. Stewart finished his season in Estonia (Europe) with the Rakvere Tarvas helping lead his team to it's first Baltic League playoff appearance by averaging 13 points and six rebounds per game. A.J. returned home with a bronze medal but not before being awarded Baltic League Player of the Month after a 29 (points) 13 (rebounds) and six (block) performance against Uteno Juventas.
