Field Hockey Evaluator

Molly Cassidy is a San Diego, CA native and a 2013
graduate of Michigan State
University with a B.A degree in Journalism with an
emphasis in electronic media.
Cassidy’s efforts were recognized both on the field
and in the classroom during her
five seasons as a Spartan.
Cassidy, a 5-2 goalkeeper, finished her career as a
member of three NCAA
appearances, two of them being elite-8, one Big Ten
Championship title and two Big
Ten Tournament Championship titles.
Cassidy was recognized on a national scale as a mem
ber of the Gladiator by
SGI/NFHCA Division I National Academic Squad, a mem
ber of the
Longstreth/NFHCA Division I All-Region West First T
eam and Second Team, 2x
Womensfieldhockey.com honoree, Academic All-Big Ten
honoree and former USA
pipeline team member.
In the Big Ten Cassidy was a two-time Second-Team A
ll-Big Ten recipient, two-time
Big Ten Tournament recipient and four-time Academic
All Big Ten honoree. Cassidy
could commonly be found leading the Big Ten in save
percentage, number of saves
and saves per game. She was named a six-time Big Te
n Defensive Player of the Week
honoree and three-time Big Ten Freshmen of the Week
honoree. Cassidy finished
with 18 shutouts.
At Michigan State Cassidy started and played in ev
ery game for four years. She was
voted a co-captain by her teammates as well as team
MVP and Defensive Player of
the Year. With 100+ saves a season, she also now ra
nks fourth in the MSU record
books for 500 career saves and finished with a 75-
save percentage.
In 2014 Cassidy plans to move to Scotland to contin
ue her field hockey career and
compete at Europe’s highest level of play.
